Surviving the World
A Photocomic Education by Dante Shepherd
Lesson #1411 - New Scientists, Part I
I read a lot of articles about STEM education - Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics - and many studies have recognized that one of the barriers to young students continuing their scientific education is that it can be hard. Well, of course it is, kids! And the solution that many studies suggest is to get and keep kids interested in science throughout their life - especially past fourth and fifth grade. To which it seems the answer would be for parents to share with their kids the scientific things that they find awesome. And come on - dinosaurs, right? I mean, come on. Dinosaurs! Among other subjects, for sure.
Anyway, I think this is a series I'll be coming back to a lot, especially if I get involved in more STEM research soon.
(Also this Rhymes With Orange comic from a while back seems appropriate today.)
