Surviving the World
A Photocomic Education by Dante Shepherd
Lesson #2761 - Scientist
It's that circle on the right that none of my students really want to wander into, and are upset when that's the side that their data falls on - so they don't think it's necessarily worth analyzing. That's not true, of course! "No result" is potentially still a major result if you understand why - even if it's not necessarily the grand achievement that you think it might be. On the flip side, of course, if all you ever do is point out why things are not scientific, then you lose the joy of science and can't share that with everyone anymore (which seems to be the direction that NdT has drifted lately). Striving for that balance - and not just understanding both sides - that's not only what to shoot for, that's what a scientist is. (Or should be, anyway.)
