I'm sure you could argue that I'm missing other factors in here, and I think you're probably right. I think this hits on the main elements, though. Many people are honest but amoral; many people are moral but dishonest. And then it doesn't even matter as a testament to your character if your actions don't also weigh in. These have been my thoughts as recent national issues of health, violence, and patriotism have been debated with varying levels of outrage and lies. Imagine if we could display everyone's character number above their head, some frequently changing and adjusting value? The motivational power it might have would be tremendous. I also wouldn't trust whoever was programming the algorithm.
