God only creates coincidences in our lives so that we think there's some meaning in whatever happened, and base plans off of that so that we eventually go off and do something stupid. In other words, God likes to mess with us. And unfortunately, he's very good at it.

Don't confuse superstition with synchronicity, by the way. There's some cool underlying-order-to-the-universe stuff to think about.
