Lesson #948 - Respect

I had written this comic earlier last week, after a couple of readers had referred to me in separate emails as an atheist and an otter. (The latter assumption is actually kind of flattering. It means my flab isn't noticeable!)

But it felt appropriate after Obama's speech about two hours ago in which he made a clear distinction between Bin Laden and Muslims - something I'm sure many people will overlook, but to me felt like an incredibly key part of the entire speech. And some of the people who don't overlook it, well, they'll certainly start applying the logic above.

I don't get why we need to assume there's an ulterior motive to showing respect - but let's get it out of our genetics, huh?
