Lesson #108 - Guinness
Did you know the pasteurization excuse is just a myth, the excuse for why Guinness in America tastes nothing like Guinness in Ireland? All Guinness is pasteurized to the same extent, no matter where it’s sold. The actual dramatic difference in taste comes from the freshness of the beer (kind of like how lobsters in Kansas aren’t quite as good as lobsters in Maine) and how often the taps in Ireland are flushed out. Still, any bar myth is a good myth, so why not help to perpetuate it?
