Pets pretty quickly become members of the family, right? (Maybe not the fish or turtle, but then again, that depends on the rapport you build with the more scaly members of your family.) So why shouldn't they be your furry children? God knows they can be as annoying as six-year old, although you might be able to discipline them a little bit more than the treatment society expects everyone to give the coddled generation.
