Lesson #772 - Popularity
One of my favorite bands is Counting Crows (their first album was the first real non-kids album I ever had) and in their most famous song, 'Mr. Jones', there is the lyric, "When everybody loves you, that's just about as funky as you can be." Which is fun and interesting by itself, but you can compare it to many of the live versions of the song done after the band had achieved some level of fame, and the lyric is often sung, "When everybody loves you, that's just about as f----- up as you can be."
The contrast and many levels of meaning for both versions of the lyric probably captures popularity better than anything else.
