Lesson #967 - The Danger of Talking Animals

Really, there are no weasels who are painted in a good light. For every pig in Animal Farm, you've got good central characters like Babe or Wilbur. There are equivalent comparisons for almost all other animals. But if you call a person a weasel, there's almost no way that's said kindly. And weasels are often the bad guys in children's literature. So sure, you might be happy if your dog or cat or even some animal at the zoo like an otter suddenly was able to talk, but have you considered how we would have to deal with talking weasels? And what if those weasels tried to use their new intelligence and speech to gain political power? You don't think we would be crushed under their revenge?

These are the thoughts that keep me up at night.
